When it comes to Sober Living in Arizona there just doesn't seem to be many facilities for woman. I am not quite sure why that is but I can tell you that we are in need of some good programs for Woman like High Standards Recovery provides for men. I have considered the possibility of having a program for Females and modeling it off of the Men's Program. What I am interested in is why there are so many Sober Living Facilities in Arizona with only a small percentage of those being for Men only. Do some research for yourself and Google; Arizona Sober Living and see how Men's programs dominate the first two pages. Please respond with your insight as I am interested in hearing what you think. If things don't change soon with some quality programs opening their doors then we will step up and do our best to help every person we can. Please let us know what your thoughts are...

Sober Living in Arizona is getting better and better. With the strict guidelines put forth by the Office of Behavioral Health in Arizona all Sober Living Facilities are prevented from doing certain things such as medication monitoring and medication reminders. Most facilities try to beat this system and find themselves in trouble. The policy of High Standards Recovery is simple. We encourage our members to be open and honest about where they are in the way of taking their medication. If they need help we find it for them. Believe me when I tell you that when you try and cut corners you pay double or triple for it in the long run. So my reason for saying Sober Living In Arizona is getting better and better???? It is a direct result of O.B.H.L. doing their job and assuring The Chemically Dependent person gets the help they need from the qualified people capable of helping.

Hello Everybody,
Just wanted to bring you up to speed on one more reason why High Standards Recovery is the Best Sober Living Facility in Prescott, AZ. We have grown so much over the last couple of years and learned so much. We are in the process of creating a check in site for our "Guys" where they log in at the end of the day and just journal about their day. We are making it so they can create their own cartoon profile picture and make up their own name. The good thing about this is the staff all know who is who so we can keep a good solid temperature on how our clients are doing. Another good thing about it is Families can log on as well and see how the group is doing. We are going to approve the posts every night ofcourse and we are putting a special "Private" box for guys that need to talk about some tough things but have a hard time getting started. I am very excited about this for so many reasons but mostly because I feel it gives the guys one more tool they can use to stay on the "Right Track"

I placed controversial blogg previously just to express an opinion on something I came accross that week. I don't want anybody to think I was attacking the Treatment Comunity as a whole. I simply was wrong for publishing it without being clear on what I meant. Earlier last week I was Talking to a Treatment Provider on the East Coast after they sent me some information on their Program. I spoke with the Director4 and he began to explain their policy and why they do what they do. His thinking behind Transitional Programs was this. He feels that once an individual graduates his program the Family couldn't be happier. He said that is what they are paying for. He also began to say that a program as tough as High Standards where clients are required to go to a meeting every day would only cause that person to relapse faster. I couldn't believe what I was hearing so in a haste I wrote that Blogg. I am sorry if it came accross as I dont believe in treatment because that is not true. Treatment saved my life and I work directly with upwards of twenty different treatment programs accross the U.S.
YOu guys keep up the good work and I will keep doing my best.

I am so proud of the staff at High Standards Recovery. We are proud to offer a Case manager as well as a staff psychiatrist who both specialize in co-occurring disorders.
Co-occurring disorders are two separate issues that must be dealt with simultaneously in order for any one afflicted to have any chance at recovery. More often than not people make the deadly mistake of thinking medication alone can cure themselves or their loved one. This is so far from the truth. In order to have success in recovery from chemical dependency as well as any mental disorder the problems need to be addressed parallel to one another. Recovery is such a trip. It has been my experience that the more I focus on my recovery from chemical dependency the more gifts I receive.I have a life today and I know in my heart that this gift is available to any person that seeks it. I am a guy that truly deserves nothing according to my past yet here I am with more than I ever could have asked for. I don't know how it works but I guarantee you that it does. I guess it has to be someones fault. Chemical Dependancy is a disease! Placing blame does nothing but waste time when there is so much work to be done to save a life. Let us not look for something to blame the problem on instead lets do something about it..........

Recovery Home Frenzy

It seems like everybody with a couple days sobriety and a place to live feel as though they are qualified to run a recovery home. More often than not they end up running a flop house. Wrong intentioned people should leave the most important part of the recovery process to those that aarent seeing dollar signs. Tell me what you think........

looking Back

It seems like it was just yesterday when we were scraping thirty year old wall paper off our walls and working one hundred hour work weeks just to keep the doors open. Now we are still working one hundred hour work weeks but it's not to keep the doors open. We are doing so much more for ourr clients then ever before and the level of recovery in our program just keeps getting stronger and stronger.
